Just like a little joke, KORA 2008 is gradually bringing smiles on the faces of Cameroonian music lovers. That a Cameroonian group is still waxing on strong in the competition is a thing to write home about. Since the now very popular group, Bright Phase grabbed a ticket for the semis, reactions have been pouring into our newsroom. « I'm proud of Sylva, Beryl, Pally and Bemo, » a Buea-based Bright Phase fan told us on phone the other day. « I didn't chicken for a moment, I knew they were going to make it. Their performance is undoubtedly brilliant at all times, » said another. On the line from Buea where the group is currently recording the next album, Sylva Bright told us they are more than glad with the result. « Since the pronouncement, we have been nursing joy in our hearts, » he said. The bright boy attributed their strides to God who they serve with much commitment. « With Him, everything is possible, » he explained. « It doesn't end there anyway, Cameroonians and the rest of Africa should have their dream come true by voting again and again for us via texting Bright Phase and sending to 00248984000 or get to www.koraawards.org, » Slyva went on. For one thing, Bright Phase never relents. Even as the young boys and girls await an eventual KORA 2008 victory, they still spend sleepless nights. Their next album is in the making at Buea's number one recording studio, M-One. They tell us it will be ready soon. Bright Phase came to focus when the group released its maiden album, Africa Na 4 Before in 2007. Since then, the group has been every music lover's source of real entertainment. It won attention of the entire continent when the group got nominated for KORA 2008, alongside compatriots, Achalle and Petit Pays and Congolese heavyweight, Fally Ipupa in the Central African best group category. They have made several trips out of the country for eliminatory performances. They now belong to the group of 40 semi finalists, 20 of whom will be selected for the final. You want Bright Phase to lift a trophy? Vote now via 00248984000 or get to www.koraawards.org Your votes count! |
