Cameroonian movies: Roses await Tinted Roses

tts tinted roseLater this January, what behind-the-scene observers have confidently described as one of the biggest Cameroonian home video productions of recent times will be made public. Tinted Roses, an emotionally-filled, yet action-packed LT Njeck film is undergoing its final polishing and will be released any time soon, the producers have told TIPTOPSTARS.

Yeah, Ernest Tinted Roses has been one of those productions that have tested my readiness, not only to stay in the art and science of filmmaking, but to excel in it,” director Njeck told this writer. He went on: “Filming the movie and post-producing it has been a herculean task. To have over fifty adults and succeed in working with them with no major concerns was indeed something to write home about and I’m proud of the entire cast and crew. Don’t forget, this production was also financially demanding – we spent over six million francs to have it put together.”

Perhaps, Tinted Roses was so demanded, first because of the length of the movie. “We had a story to tell in one hundred and sixty minutes and this had to be done in two parts. We had to take our time, be meticulous and make sure the piece came out in the best way to satisfy Tinted Roses’ potential audience,” said Njeck from Yaounde.

The said story, written by the young but prolific Cameroonian filmmaker himself describes campus life in one of his country’s universities, which life is marred by underworld activities, online crime, tribalism and other social vices. In the story, Yvan (Desmond Wyte) is fed up with silly obligations from an underworld group on campus led by a hard-core villain (Aurelien Henry Obama). The former’s wife Pel (Adel Dikana) who has just divorced Yannick (Epule Jeffrey) and has just taken the place of Kercy (Anam Rita) is thrown out by Yvan's mother (Nchini Mabel) due to tribal differences. Mama's choice of wife is pregnant and Yannick wants his wife back. Members of the campus underworld group are here to reclaim what belongs to them. The pregnant woman is blinded and crippled yet more still has to be done even as Yannick’s parents (Otia Vitalis and Njoya Grace) want their money back and not the girl any more. The rest of the story which condemns such malpractices will be savoured in the up-coming movie shot on locations in Yaounde (Sony Omar and Miss Renata as location managers) with DJ Blerk (also editor) and Tabi Zama as D.O.Ps and lighting technicians.

Featuring in Tinted Roses which will be premiered in Yaounde are Epule Jeffrey, Desmond WYTE, Adel Dikana, Rita Anam, Akuro Raphael, Nchini Mabel, Solange Mankah, Adah Akenji, Otia Vitalis, Njoya Grace, Njuh Louis, Henry Obama, Anne Ndoh, etc. The artists in this GoldStar Entertainment movie are made up by the indefatigable Fongu Claudia.
