MTV Awards: Civil call to vote Stanley Enow

stanley enow tiptopstarsThose who are officially tasked to do public relations for Cameroonian rap maestro Stanley Enow will for once stretch their arms and feet. The weight of this herculean task is being made lighter by all a sundry, at least for this latest news about the music star – his nomination in the Best New Act category of the highly acclaimed MTV Video Music Awards. Cameroonians have taken upon themselves to do the marketing of this not-so-common honour, urging their compatriots wherever they may be, to vote for the hero nominee.

“Stanley’s Hein Pere held the entire country spellbound, including me. There is just no way I can stay away from this recent episode. If he emerges victorious, the joy won’t be Stanley’s alone, but that of all Cameroonians,” a fan told us from Douala where the rap singer resides. “Calling on Cameroonians to vote for him is just doing the right thing,” he added.

To Henrick, another Stanley Enow fan, this is the time Cameroonians whom the singer has made proud and happy, have to show proof of the love they have for him. “And it’s by voting for him massively that this affection can be fulfilled,” said the dedicated fan whom we contacted from Maryland (MD), USA.

Just like the Douala fan and MD-based Henrick, scores of other Cameroonians have taken on to social media, since the announcement of Stanley Enow’s nomination, to canvass for votes for the singer. To some, it is a golden opportunity for Cameroon to come to the limelight again, but this time through a bigger platform – the MTV Video Music Awards whose history so far, is written without any single Cameroonian laureate. Should the rap star emerge victorious, he would be his country’s first musician to pick up a coveted MTV Awards prize. “I cannot just picture how joyous we would be,” an Ohio-based Cameroonian music lover conjectured snappily.

Contestants in the same category include Nigeria’s Burnaboy and Phyno, but it is highly predicted that the Cameroon, whose talent is now said to have attracted every attention, would carry the day.

The MTV Awards nomination came on the heels of the release of Stanley Enow’s latest single, TumbuBoss (Deluxe), now being consumed with an unimaginable appetite at home and abroad. I thank God for this blessing. I do it for the youths. I do it for my country. Amen!” Enow simply stated following the announcement.

Though at a relatively debutant stage of his music career, Stanley Enow who has already won several awards including two Cameroon Academy Awards (Sonnah) prizes in December 2013. He also enjoys international recognition, after having thrilled crowds out of Cameroon.
