Kumba musical trio sets standards

Hardly will you ever hear of music in Kumba without the mention of the name RJT. Surely, this is one of K-Town’s most renowned and respected music groups.

For the past seven years, this trio - Muki Reinhard aka Milkman, Nyasa Dobgima alias Lil Dob and Mbah Ondogomaa, fondly known as Hardfire have continued to blow the minds of fans with their brilliance in both Reggae and Hip-hop music.

Their relationships, experiences as well as the happenings of the society have inspired them to compose melodious, yet meaningful songs.

Their crowd-pulling ability as well as their sensible and practical lifestyle has led many to describe the song gurus as talented and down- to- earth.

Their story kicked off in 2009 when the trio emerged with Power in Success as a praise-worthy debut album. With 14 pieces, the consisted of tracks such as It’s Time for Celebration, The Nation We are Living In, My Homeland and All Ting Na Tchank. All Ting Na Tchank later became this group was identified with at all times, giving the album the success it deserved.

For one thing, RJT won’t forget the inspiration they have always had from some of their icons including leading Cameroonian Hip-Hop artistes such as Jovi and Krotal. The boys all agree that these two have shaped their music style and molded them into what they are today.

Working as a group has been a big challenge” the trio told TIPTOPSTARS. RJT admitted their ideas have conflicted times without number, but, in their own words; “Our humble beginnings, background, common goal and passion for music have been a constant drive.”

“We have come a long way and we feel extremely fortunate to have had this opportunity. We feel obliged to give back to society,” said RJT.

As a means to greater results, the music trio in 2009 created a production outfit which they baptized The RJT Hope Foundation. They equally plan to help promote other young artistes from humble beginnings, assist street and homeless children achieve their dreams, and of course make enormous contributions to the entertainment industry

These days, you will find them in the studio working on their soon to be released second album.
