We have just three scenes to go and everything being equal, we’ll shoot them this coming Saturday,” Kang Quintus, the producer of Rage, an up-coming short film announced. The film maker was speaking in Maryland from where the Rage crew, led by director Akim Macauley is getting set to hit the set once again.

According to Kang, the film is expected to be ready for consumption by December this year. “That’s when we’ll do premieres,” the producer told TIPTOPSTARS’ editor. The said premieres will happen in the United States, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

Being shot on locations in Maryland, USA, Rage exploits themes of death and violence and condemns unwarranted killing. It tells the story of a ruthless killer whose lack of conscience causes untold pain on his victims. Is retributive justice going to catch up with him? Find out in the 25-minutes long film directed by the indefatigable Akim Macauley.

The movie takes the form of a sequence and each sequence is independent of the other, but there is an interrelation which gives sense to the content,” Kang explained.

Rage will be edited in Cameroon by the dexterous Teh Reagan, a young Cameroonian who is making strides in film editing. The producer revealed that the film will be sent to festivals. “And also for public consumption,” he stated further.

Co-produced by Nelson Kime, Rage has US-based film maker, actress and TV host, Trinah Takoh as its executive producer. Starring in the movie are Taka Tanni, Kang Quintus, Trina Takoh, Claudio Oben, Dilys Forsuh and Linda Oiwo. Its director Akim Macauley is one of Cameroon’s frontline film makers of contemporary times with a good number of successful projects to his credit. In a subsequent update, TIPTOPSTARS will begin a series of reports on Akim’s projects.

Meantime, Sumith Productions as a production house is hitting the fast lane with prospects of throwing more light on the film industry in Cameroon. Just this year, it has produced three movies – Critical Point, also featuring Samy Diko and Ghana’s Ruffy Quansah, Crush starring Mairo Sanda and the up-coming Rage.
