When TIPTOPSTARS hooked on to Taka Tanni by midday Monday, the popular actress was at a New Jersey airport, boarding her flight to North Carolina. She had just answered present for a monthly rendezvous to shoot more episodes of Family Secrets, a soap opera in gestation. “We pick one weekend every month to shoot four episodes,” she told us as she walked into THE aircraft.

According to the now prolific artist, Family Secrets has been a challenging story. “I found myself playing the villain again,” Taka Tanni said. The said villain, Jackie, plays the double-edged sword and in the process backstabs mercilessly.

“However, I cherish the story which to me appeals to the four senses of a good cinema piece, that is drama, suspense, romance and action,” the actress indicated. “Also, Family Secrets is a film I have at heart thanks to the people I work with on the story with, the actors are great, the director superb. In short, I enjoy everything about this production.”

But how did Taka Tanni get on board this gigantic project? “The producer Mohamed Conteh called me and we talked on my eventual participation in Family Secrets. When I had bought the concept, I accepted the main cast proposal and that’s how the deal was sealed,” the renowned actress, who has also produced a movie told us.

Taka Tanni hits airspace once again next month to honour April’s appointment on set Family Secrets on New Jersey locations. TIPTOPSTARS will be talking with the producer to let readers have more information on the soap.

It is the second soap opera the Cameroonian star who is currently nursing two huge nominations (Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards, NAFCA and the Cameroon Entertainment Awards, CEA) is doing. She first featured in African Connection (2011) as a guest artist in three episodes. She has also starred in several movies and been on set with some of Africa’s best-selling actors including Ramsey Nouah, Emeka Ike, Jim Iyke, Desmond Elliot, Van Vicker and Nadia Buari.
